In this bittersweet musical drama, young Fanny Brice breaks into show business as a bit player on the vaudeville stage and works her way up to stardom on Broadway. Her vocal and comedic talents win the attention and admiration of theater impresario Florenz Ziegfeld, but the relationship with her suave businessman husband is another story. Streisand won the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal as Fanny. Also stars Omar Sharif, Kay Medford, Walter Pidgeon, and Anne Francis.
