An eccentric French countess (Katharine Hepburn) and her odd friends thwart a plot to drill for oil in Paris. In this star-laden extravaganza, the notion of an old woman who is naively committed to justice, and who hopes to bring down a gang of international thieves all by herself, is by all accounts a charming conundrum. Based on the stage play by Jean Giraudoux. Stars Katharine Hepburn, Yul Brynner, Danny Kaye, Richard Chamberlain, and Charles Boyer.
