Best Picture winner is a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist,” about an innocent orphan in 19th-century London who falls in with a gang of young pickpockets and thieves led by the evil elder, Fagin. The film won a total of six Oscars, including Director (Carol Reed) and Score.
