Mother’s Day Pops Concert – 2:00 PM
The Lake County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present its 1st live performance in over 2 years.
“Salute to Broadway” is the theme for the 2022 Mother’s Day Pops Concert. You can expect to hear many familiar tunes from several favorite Broadway shows including The King and I, The Sound of Music, and Guys and Dolls. Additionally, you will be treated to the vocal stylings of local veteran jazz singer, Paula Samonte. Ms. Samonte will be performing three numbers arranged for orchestra by the LCSA’s conductor, John Parkinson.
Concertmaster Andi Skelton is welcoming back a full orchestra! For safety, the wind instruments were not included during virtual performances filmed in the Soper Reese theatre over the last two years due to Covid 19. These past Virtual performances are available on the “Soper Reese YouTube” Channel and on the Lake County Symphony Association website and their “LC Symphony Musicians” YouTube Channel.
This resumption of live concerts will kick off with the debut of the newly-remodeled Lake County Community & Youth Orchestra. Under the baton of director Sue Condit, this open-enrollment musical group is comprised of community members – ages from middle-school and up – who are eager to share what they have studied together since mid-February.
Ticket Prices: $30.00 Premium Center Balcony, $25.00 General Seating, $5 Discount for LCSA members.
